Baseball Collects 4 All-Academic Honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Alvin Community College baseball's Tanner Marek was named a First Team All-Academic by the National Junior College Athletic Association.

Teammate Adam Wade received Second Team All-Academic honors.

Seth Davis and Reagan James collected Third Team All-Academic honors

To be eligible for the NJCAA All-Academic awards, a student-athlete must post a grade point average of 3.6 or higher for the academic year, and complete at least 24 credit hours. Students who earn the necessary credits to graduate by December are not required to fulfill the 24 credit hour requirements. Student-athletes who earn a 4.0 GPA for the entire academic year are named First Team All-Academic. Those who post GPAs between 3.8 and 3.99 earn Second Team All-Academic. Student-athletes with a GPA between 3.6 and 3.79 are named Third Team All-Academic.

Marek hit .300 with a triple and four runs batted in in limited plate appearances. Wade appeared in 13 games on the mound, starting six. He went 2-5 with 56 strikeouts in 38 innings pitched. Davis appeared in nine games, going 1-1. James batted .286 with four doubles and nine RBI.
